January

bullet

January 1st - Today I got to take a ride on my new trike that the McCarley's gave me for my birthday.  It was so fun.  We rode all the way to the park.  I got to walk around at the playground and even went down the slide with Mommy and Daddy.  We had fun!

bullet

January 2nd - When Daddy got home from work today, I ran right over to him and gave him a big hug.  It made him cry!  I don't know why he was sad.  I thought he'd like a hug after his long day at work!

bullet

January 3rd - I got my 10th tooth today.  It's a molar and boy, did that one hurt.

bullet

January 4th - Since I am a big boy (and also a year old now), Daddy moved my car seat forward facing today.  Now I can see everything!!  It's great!!  I had no idea all that I was missing!  Today I also surprised Mommy and Daddy by saying 'Kitty!' when a picture of one came up on Mommy's computer.  They were surprised when I said it but I just wanted to let them know that there was a kitty on the screen.

bullet

January 6th - Chocolate fudgsicles are really good.  Mommy shared one with me today.  I like those!

bullet

January 8th - I have two new tricks.  The first is that I have mastered the on/off button on the TV.  On, off, on, off.  I just drive Mommy crazy with that one.  The second thing I have learned is to close doors.  I walk around the house and just close all the doors I can find.  It's fun!

bullet

January 14th - I am really trying to learn how to clap.  I almost have it down!

bullet

January 16th - I am clapping now!!!  It finally clicked!!  I was walking through the dining room and all of a sudden, I started clapping!  Mommy is SO proud of me!!

bullet

January 18th - Today my friend Samuel from the BBC came to visit me.  His mommy, daddy and big brother came, too.  We hung out and even exchanged some presents with them.  We played together but this time I didn't try to poke him in the eye and he didn't try to bite me.  We are over that stage.  Samuel is really cool and I love to hang out with him!

bullet

January 23rd - I love Mommy's keys.  In fact, I have been paying attention all this time and figured out that the keys belong in locks!  Today I wanted to show Mommy so I took her keys and walked over to the door at the coffee shop and tried to put the key in the lock.  She was highly impressed, as was everyone else at the coffee shop.  Also today (to show off my clapping ability), I started clapping at the appropriate moment in 'If you're happy and you know it'.  Mommy thought this was very cool.  I must keep doing this.  Everyone thinks it cute.

bullet

January 24th - Today is a sad day.  We found out today that my Godmother Stacey passed away.  I don't really understand what has happened, but I know that I love her and I will see her again in Heaven someday.  I am happy that I got to meet her but wish I had gotten to spend more time with her.  I know she is happier where she is now.  I love you Stacey!!  Hugs and Kisses to you!!

bullet

January 25th - Today is Daddy's birthday (Uncle Kevin's, too).  We went to Grandma and Grandpa Brook's house for lunch.  Uncle David, Cousin Wesley and Cousin Kira were there, too.  After we had lunch, we took a walk down to the duck pond and fed the ducks.  I just LOVE ducks!  Mommy was paranoid that I was going to fall in the duck pond but I didn't.  She is so silly!  She worries about everything!

bullet

January 26th - Daddy took a trip to Florida today to go say good-bye to Stacey.  He is going to be gone for 4 days.  I will miss him, but I need to stay behind and take care of Mommy.  She is very sad.

bullet

January 27th - Did you know that I love to try and eat the Bounce sheet after it comes out of the dryer?  Mommy doesn't know how I always find it, but I do!  I just cram it in my mouth as soon as I can.  I also love finding Mommy or Daddy's shoes and walking around the house with them.  This is my hint that I want to go on a walk, but sometimes they don't realize.  Also, I love to give great big hugs now.  I love to show my Mommy and Daddy that I love them!

bullet

January 28th - Today I had peas for the first time.  I liked them!!

bullet

January 29th - Have you ever heard of the Wiggles??  I LOVE THE WIGGLES!!  They are my favorite now!  Today I laughed and pointed at them!  They are so funny!!  "Hot potato, hot potato..."

bullet

January 30th - Mom needs a break and I am tired.  I think I will sleep all night tonight...

bullet

January 31st - I love my sippy cup so much I gave it a great big hug today.  That was kind of silly, huh?  Well, Mommy thought it was cute.

February

bullet

February 1st - Tonight I waved good bye to Mommy when I was going night-night.  I just thought it seemed appropriate since I wouldn't be seeing her for a while (well, until my first nighttime feeding that is!).

bullet

February 3rd - OK, I am really getting this waving thing down.  When Daddy went to work today, I waved bye bye to him!  He was so proud of me.  Also, today at lunch I used my spoon properly, twice!  That was a lot of work though so I'm not sure I will be using that thing again soon.

bullet

February 4th - Mommy was spinning me around and she asked, 'Do it again?' and I nodded yes!  I understood what she meant so I nodded!  Such a small thing but it really made her happy.  Also, I totally freaked Mommy out by opening the front door today.  It's a good thing that top lock was there or else I would have just walked right out the door.  And they thought I wasn't strong enough to open the door!

bullet

February 6th - OK, I know you are probably getting sick of reading about the waving thing, but I am just getting started.  As soon as I hear anyone say 'bye' or 'bye bye' I just wave!  Doesn't matter, I just wave.  Also, if I see someone leaving where we are, I wave too.  Mommy and I went to Subway today and I waved at every person who left.  (No one waved back though, I don't get that.)

bullet

February 7th - Today I opened the bathroom door, walked in and shut it behind me.  Sometimes you need your privacy, you know?  Oh wait, I'm not potty trained yet!!!  I'm so silly!

bullet

February 8th - I got my hair cut today and I must say, it was the least traumatic so far.  I only cried a little bit but those clippers still bother me a bit.  They are scary!!

bullet

February 12th - I love pretending that I am talking on the phone so today I used my blue Elmo phone and walked around, just like Daddy does.  And then, I shut myself in my room.  I just went in and shut the door behind me.  Mommy wasn't far behind though, don't worry!  I also got my picture taken with Cousins Andrew and Christina.  They came out nice!

bullet

February 24th - I love to copy everything that Mommy does and this includes housework.  I love to help mop the floors with that Swiffer thing.  Heck, I even mop the carpets!!  It's fun to help!!  Not sure how long I will keep this up but I can bet it will stop once I become a teenager.  Just a hunch.

bullet

February 26th - Today we had lunch with Granny and she tried to feed me something called tapioca pudding.  Mommy whispered in my ear that it was frogs eggs!  YIKES!!  I decided right then and there that tapioca pudding would NOT be part of my diet, and promptly turned my nose up to it.

bullet

February 27th - Ok, check out this list of things I am up to:  I use the work 'goh' for balloon (even I don't know why I say that), I like to point to EVERYTHING, I love my books and my favorite right now is Angelina Ballerina's Colors (the best page is the one with the Big Black Spider!), I say 'uh uh uh uh' all the time just to drive my Mommy and Daddy crazy, I try to say the word 'cockatoo' but it comes out 'caw guh' (pretty close, right?), I love to open and close doors, I love to walk around the house and 'talk' on my Fisher Price phone, I am walking really well (almost running) but sometimes I lose my balance still and last but not least, I am eating almost everything that Mommy and Daddy give me (with the exception of nuts, popcorn, honey and egg whites, among other things).  Gosh, I can't believe I just typed all that.  I better take a break.  In fact, tonight I think I'll sleep all night.

March

bullet

March 2nd - Today I tried to be super cute by waving bye bye to Mommy, then getting on my trike to ride away.  Then I'd get off, wave bye bye again and get back on to ride away again.  I did this several times until Mommy stopped paying attention to me.  Then I think I read a book or something.

bullet

March 3rd - I can get on and off my rocking horse all by myself now!  Mommy is proud of me.  I love my rocking horse and now I don't need Mommy to help me anymore!

bullet

March 5th - Today I drank from a straw for the first time.  I am very good at it.  Mommy was totally impressed with that because she didn't think I could.  Thank goodness Auntie Heather suggested I try or else I'd still be thirsty!  Also, I slept all night.  I think I might try this more (but don't tell Mommy, gotta keep her guessing).

bullet

March 6th - Guess what?  I slept all night again.  Oh and I am getting very good at putting the little shapes (square, heart and triangle) into the Fisher Price Cookie Shape Surprise all by myself.  Mommy is impressed.  She's pretty much impressed with everything I do, to tell you the truth.

bullet

March 7th - So I have a few things that I can say now.  It's not much, but it's a start.  Here it is:  go, da, mamamamamama, caw-guh (I say this for cockatoo, just like in the Stanley song) and goh (this is what I call a balloon).  It's funny, I can type all these other words but I just can't say them yet.  Weird.  Today I pointed to the door and said, 'Go!'.  I wanted to go to the coffee shop to hang out with all my friends.  Oh and I slept all night again.  I can't tell you how much Mommy likes this!!

bullet

March 8th - I did it again!!!  I slept all night.  I think the secret is that Mommy doesn't make me take 2 naps anymore, so by the time I go to bed I am REALLY tired!

bullet

March 9th -  Oops, today I did something bad.  Mommy let me run around the house without my diaper and well... I um... I had to 'go'... so I did.  (I pee-peed all over the carpet.)  Once Mommy got over the shock of it, she started laughing.  Anyway, that's what she gets for taking off my diaper though.  I mean, it's not like I can hold it, you know?  (And I slept all night again!)

bullet

March 10th - Today I bent forward with my hands on the ground and looked through my legs.  I thought I was SO funny.  Everyone else sure looked funny, all upside down and everything!  OK, on a not-so-funny note, there are two things that scare me really, really bad.  And they are:  The shark in the Finding Nemo commercial (hello?  why are you showing that while I watch my nice, happy, non-violent shows on Disney?).  The other thing that doesn't sit well with me is that Shakey Shakey skit that the Wiggles do.  It freaks me out, bad.  Not sure why.  I go running for Mommy whenever it comes on though.  I really love the Wiggles, but not that song :o(

bullet

March 11th - Today I danced to the 'Bee Gees'.  Don't know who they are but I like their music.  Good beat for dancing.

bullet

March 12th - Whenever I see the moon, I point to it!  I always look for it when we go out.  I get so happy when I find it!!

bullet

March 13th - Slept all night again.  This is good.

bullet

March 14th - Mommy and Daddy have taught me how to give high fives and low fives.  I'm cool :o)  And I slept all night....

bullet

March 15th - Today we went to the Happy Hollow Park and Zoo in San Jose.  It was a lot of fun.  This was my first time going to the zoo!!  I wasn't really afraid of anything, except maybe this big donkey that got a bit too close.  There was also a park to play in which was a lot of fun.  We saw a puppet show and I behaved almost the whole time, but then I got a bit restless.  Oh and I went on my first Merry Go Round with Daddy!  At first I liked it but honestly, after a while I got a little bit scared!!  Daddy held on to me really tight the whole time though, so I knew I was safe.

bullet

March 16th - We went to Cousin Andrew's First birthday party today.  I had so much fun seeing my cousins.  Most of the time I played inside Andrew's tent.  I love that thing!

bullet

March 18th - This is the day you've all been waiting for:  I think it's safe to say that  I'm finally sleeping through the night.  Mommy is like a new person I tell ya.  I have to admit, I feel better, too.  As much as I loved our late night talks, I knew we both needed sleep.

bullet

March 19th - I have been working on this for months, but now I can finally buckle my own stroller belt.  I don't need any help... I can do it myself!!  If any one tries to help, it actually irritates me :o)

bullet

March 21st - I have two favorite books to read at night:  Angelina Ballerina Colors and Dr. Suess's Nose Book.  Mommy tickles me when we get to the spider page in Angelina and I giggle every time!  In The Nose Book, Mommy uses different voices and it cracks me up!

bullet

March 24th - Today I walked around the house saying 'baaaa baaaaa baaaa'.  Don't know why.  Just felt like it!

bullet

March 25th - Today I walked around the house saying, 'sheeee sheeee sheeee'.  Don't know why.  Just felt like it!  Oh and Mommy let me brush her hair.  I did a good job.  Didn't pull it all out or anything.  Well, maybe a little tug here and there.

bullet

March 28th - When we left the coffee shop today, I actually said, 'bye' to Angelina!  It just popped out of my mouth!!

bullet

March 31st - There is good news and bad news for today.  First the good news:  I walked all the way to the coffee shop!  Just like a big boy!!  When we were there I had my first taste of a mango smoothie.  Very good!!!  Ok, now the bad news:  The mango smoothie gave me a rash!!  All over my back!!  It went away pretty fast but you know Mommy... she freaked out.

April

bullet

April 1st - We went to Olive Garden to have dinner with family and guess who showed up?  Uncle Ronnie!  It was so cool!  Mommy tells me that Uncle Ronnie, Auntie Kelly and Cousin Shane are moving back to California.  Cool man!

bullet

April 3rd - Omigosh, you will never guess what happened today!!!!  When Mommy and I arrived at the coffee shop this morning after our walk, there were tons of firefighters there (not putting out fires, just getting coffee, lol).  They made me an honorary San Jose Jr. Firefighter!!!  How cool is that?  I got a sticker to wear so that everyone would know.

bullet

April 4th - Today I had my 15 month check up with Dr. Yarlagadda.  I was 25.5 lbs and 33 1/2 inches tall.  I was a little scared of her stethoscope.  I actually waved bye bye and said 'go go go' to her but she didn't leave.  I thought that might work.  Oh well.  Then I had to have *5* shots!!!!  I cried (of course) but got over it pretty quick!!  Mommy said I did a good job.  I am nice and healthy!

bullet

April 5th - We went to the mall today and Daddy got me one of those car things to ride in

bullet

April 7th - I can do the 'mashed banana' move just like the Wiggles!!!!  Mommy thinks it's really cute.  Also, I nod my head to say yes now!!

bullet

April 9th - I am learning how to blow kisses.  I just put my hand on Mommy's mouth and she does it for me.  I think I'm supposed to put my hand on MY mouth though.  Oops!

bullet

April 14th - Mommy is teaching me the Itsy Bitsy Spider song.  I try to do the hand movements to the spider part.  I think I'm pretty good at it.

bullet

April 16th - If you ask me if I'm hungry or thirsty, I will nod and say, 'yea yea yea' (even if I'm not really hungry).

bullet

April 17th - I am learning body parts and so far, I can point to my tummy, knee, foot and toes :o)

bullet

April 19th - Today I got my first skinned knee.  It really hurt, but I got over it quickly.  On an unrelated note, I went on a swing for the first time today at the park.  I hated it.  Too scary for me.  Oh, and I got to go watch cousin Wesley play baseball with his team.  He's really good.

bullet

April 20th - Today is Easter!!  First we went to church, but I didn't like that.  I cried and made a fuss the entire time.  Then we went to Uncle Billy's house for an Easter egg hunt.  That was fun.  After that it was off to Grammy's house.  She gave me these really cool duckies to play with in the bathtub.  I tried Blueberry Yum Yum for the first time.  YUM!!  I went to town with it.

bullet

April 21st - I like to growl.  Not mean or anything.  Just like the sound it makes in my throat.  GROWL!  :o)

bullet

April 22nd - Today Mommy asked me for a kiss, and instead of just ignoring her like usual, I let her have one.  She was so happy!!  I chased the ducks outside of the coffee shop today.  That was fun!

bullet

April 23rd - Mommy and Daddy bought me my own little table, with chairs.  It's perfect and just my size.  They also bought me my first coloring book.  It's Elmo and it has bugs!!  I drew in it with some crayons.

bullet

April 24th - Today was my first time going to the library.  All the books you could ever imagine, and they let you borrow them and bring them back later.  How cool is that???  Oh, it's important to note that I graduated to size 5 diapers today.  I'm a big boy :o)

bullet

April 25th - I like to give kisses and hugs, but it's pretty much when I feel like it.  I'm a little choosy, what can I say?  By the way, I can point to my head, foot, tummy and knee when asked.

bullet

April 26th - I can rock on my rocking horse all by myself now!!  I don't need anyone to help me.  Oh, guess who we met today??  Michelle and David, from Baby Center.  David and I share the same birthday.  Isn't that neat??  We all walked (well, David and I sat in our strollers) in the March of Dimes Walk A Thon in San Francisco.  It was a lot of fun.  I took a short power nap while Mommy and everyone walked.  It's hard work just sitting in that stroller you know!

bullet

April 27th - I try to blow raspberries, but I pretty much just spit.  Can't quite master that one.

bullet

April 28th - Today I stacked 6 blocks all by myself (my wooden Winnie the Pooh ones).  I am so smart.

May

bullet

May 1st - Today I ate a 'cookie' spoon.  I actually took bites, instead of just sucking on it like I do with everything else.  Mommy was amazed!  Then I surprised her again and took bites of a hamburger (instead of just sucking on it).  I swear my diet doesn't just consist of cookies and burgers.  They make me eat healthy stuff, too.

bullet

May 4th - For some reason, Mommy made me take a nap in the Pack and Play.  I slept for 3 hours.  I guess it was a success.  It's small, but still comfy.  I think it needs a bit more cushion though.

bullet

May 5th - I ate an apple today!  It was great!!

bullet

May 11th - Today is Mother's Day.  With Daddy's help, I painted her a special plate and put my hand prints on it.  I hope she likes it!!  I sure do love my Mommy.

bullet

May 12th - Today when I was in the bath tub, I figured out one of those squirt toys.  I squirted Daddy with it!  Boy, that sure was fun.

bullet

May 13th - This may seem insignificant to some of you, but to the Andersons, this is big:  Today, while sitting in my highchair at the table, I started leaning to one side.  Ask cousin McKenzie about it.  She started the tradition.

bullet

May 14th - Today I had the bright idea to start putting things in the back of my little red tricycle and then go for a ride!!  Of course, Mommy was taking pictures :o)  Oh and to make her happy, when she asked for a hug, I gave her a kiss first.  She loved that.

bullet

May 16th - I can click my tongue.  Just in case you wanted to know.

bullet

May 21st - Mommy took me to the Children's Place (a clothing store) and got me some new clothes, all in 2T.  This is significant, I think, because I am only 1.  I'm just a big boy.

bullet

May 22nd - I decided today that I no longer like cheese.  Or grilled cheese.  Ick.  (I reserve the right to change my mind though.)

bullet

May 23rd - You know what I LOVE to do?  I love to get up on Mommy and Daddy's bed and play!  It's so cool up there!  Just gotta make sure I don't fall off!

bullet

May 25th - Daddy bought me a new pair of shoes today.  They are Buzz Lightyear (from the movie Toy Story).  I have no idea who Buzz Lightyear is at the moment, but I am sure I will find out.  Oh, and they were size 7.  I have HUGE feet :o)

bullet

May 27th - Today Mommy asked me to get my pedometer for her from the living room, so I did.  She was very surprised that I knew what a pedometer is.  I DO pay attention you know!

bullet

May 28th - Very important:  I can say 'cup'.  This word comes in handy, as you can imagine.

bullet

May 29th - I slept with a blanket for the first time last night.  Mom and Dad have me wear these really thick jammies so I am never cold, but I guess they thought it was time I started using a blanket.  I threw it off immediately of course, but they tried.  Oh, and guess what?  I can get down off Mommy's bed all by myself now, feet first and tummy down of course.

bullet

May 30th - Today Daddy and I walked to the coffee shop, but we stopped 3 times so I could look at ants.  I am fascinated by them.

bullet

May 31st - We went to an amusement park today called Bonfonte Gardens.  It was fun!!!  I went on my very first ride, all alone.  I didn't cry at all!!  It was a fishy ride.  Not that it was fishy, I just rode in a fish.  :o)  We also went on a ride that looked like an artichoke.  Still trying to figure that one out.  I think Mommy and Auntie Heather went on something that looked like a garlic bulb.  Crazy.  Oh and today Daddy tried to teach me how to say 'wow' but instead I say, 'wooooooooooooooooooo'.

June

bullet

June 1st - Today I finally learned how to climb up on the couch!  Hope I don't learn how to fall off!!

bullet

June 3rd - I can say 'cow'.  Not sure when I will use this, but it might come in handy.

bullet

June 4th - I tried putting on my own shoes today, unsuccessfully I might add.  I think I will have Mommy help me for a while yet.

bullet

June 5th - Mommy shared her Subway sandwich with me today.  It was a ham sandwich with cheese and veggies.  I ate quite a bit.  She was proud of me.

bullet

June 6th - Today we went to the park with cousins Andrew and Christina.  I was afraid of the teeter totter and also the slide.  Oh and I didn't want to go in the water either.  I just wanted to walk walk walk.  Mommy got her exercise chasing me.

bullet

June 9th - Tonight we went to dinner at Benihana.  I accidentally hit my lip on the table and gave myself a nice big, fat lip.  Great.  The shrimp was scrumptious, however.

bullet

June 11th - I went to Bonfonte Gardens with Uncle Ronnie today (Mom came, too).  I got to ride in the cars!!  It was a lot of fun.  Uncle Ronnie is pretty cool.  I even let him hold my hand.

bullet

June 17th - Today I said 'duuu' for duck.  Also, I said, 'tea!' when she asked me, 'What does Mommy drink?'.  She drinks it EVERY DAY.  How could I not know that?  :o)

bullet

June 19th - Daddy taught me how to blink on demand.  Not sure why I needed to know how to do this but let's just say for the record it's mastered.  But more importantly, I can wave bye bye and say 'bye bye' now.  Mom just loves that!

bullet

June 20th - Mommy and Daddy went out tonight, and Uncle Billy came over to hang out with me.  We had lots of fun.  He even brought me 2 new books to read.  One is about tools and the other one is about trucks!  I love them!

bullet

June 21st - Today I went over to see Grammy.  I played ball with her, went on a walk and also swung on a swing :o)  It was great.

bullet

June 22nd - I ate Cheerios and milk today like a big boy (out of a bowl, with a spoon even!).  I made a huge mess but that's OK.  Mom cleaned it up.

bullet

June 23rd - Today Mommy and Daddy took me to this nice restaurant called Tao Tao.  Apparently it's my mom's favorite.  Anyway, I had my first won ton, and even dipped it in sweet and sour sauce.  I really liked it!

bullet

June 25th - Auntie Alethea came over today.  I brought her a ball and said, 'Ball!'.  Everyone was very excited by this for some reason.  I guess it's 'cause I hardly talk.  Hmmm...

bullet

June 26th through June 29th - I took a big trip with Mommy and Daddy!!  We got on an airplane (I did great on the ride there by the way) to meet our friends Amy, Pete and Megan who live in Missouri near St. Louis.  We had SO much fun meeting them.  Megan is my age.  Well, she's about a week older but who's keeping track?  We went to The Arch in St. Louis, we went to a really cool park and ran around, we went to a giant pool to go swimming and we even went to this mall and saw fudge being made.  That was quite interesting.  All in all, in was a really fun 4 days we got to spend with them.  They were so nice and took very good care of us while we were there.  I hope someday we can go back.  They are such wonderful people, and that Megan is a total cutie pie.

bullet

June 30th - I have a few new words I've learned!  Toe, frog and hi!  :o)
