December

bullet

December 26th - I'm born at 8:17 a.m.  I weighed 9 lbs 8 oz, and was 22.5 inches long.  Everyone says I look like my Daddy but they also say I got my ears from my Mommy.  I wonder what that means??  I'll have to ask her sometime.

bullet

December 26th thru December 29th - Get to meet all sorts of family and friends.  Some of them even brought presents for Mommy and me... That was really nice of them.

bullet

December 29th - Get to go home to our apartment and my new room.  Love the Baby Looney Tunes.  I think Tweety is my favorite.  Also, Mommy's friend Alethea had to make an emergency trip to the store to get size 1 diapers.  I was much bigger than anyone thought and all Mommy had were newborn size!  You'd think she would have thought ahead...

January

bullet

January 1st - My first New Year.  I'm not much of a party animal or anything.  Really, I just slept all day.

bullet

January 5th - My first visit to the doctor.  Let's just say for the record that I don't enjoy getting my temperature taken.

bullet

January 6th - My first sponge bath... Didn't like that either.

bullet

January 9th - Daddy got me my own website and email address... Just what every 2 week old newborn needs.  We do live in the Silicon Valley, though.

bullet

January 11th - That thing on my tummy finally fell off.  What a relief.

bullet

January 14th - Mommy says this is the first time I smiled but between you and me it was just gas.

February

bullet

February 2nd - I started cooing at Mommy.  She seemed like she needed a little conversation.

bullet

February 3rd - My first SuperBowl.  Football is cool.

bullet

February 8th - I decided I would start sucking my thumb.

bullet

February 10th - Met some guy named Uncle Kevin that looks just like Daddy except he's got some furry stuff on his chin and a picture of a spider on his arm.  I swear it's like they are identical or something.  I'll get back to you on that one.  Nice guy, though.

bullet

February 16th - Smiled for the camera for the first time.  WOW!  You should have seen Mommy's reaction.  She really liked that!

bullet

February 23rd - Apparently I grew overnight because Mommy had to make an emergency trip to the store to get size 2 diapers.  Oh yeah, Mommy and Daddy bought a new car too.  Big deal.

bullet

February 27th - Finally made contact with those hanging toys on my bouncy chair.  I've really been working on that one.  Glad all my hard work paid off.  Plus, I think my arms grew or something.  That must have helped.

March

bullet

March 3rd - I slept 6 1/2 hours in a row last night.  That's a record for me.  I think Mommy only came in and checked on me like 10 times.  Geez, she must be paranoid or something.  I better not do that again anytime soon.

bullet

March 6th - I found my hands.  These things are great.  I could stare at them all day long.

bullet

March 9th - OK, I know I said I wouldn't do it again but I slept all night.  This time I slept 8 hours in a row.  Mommy was so happy.  What a bummer.  I thought she really liked getting up with me 4 times every night.

bullet

March 10th - Had my 'Dedication' at St. Peter's.  Everyone said a prayer for me in church.  It was really cool.

bullet

March 11th - Today I held a rattle!! (For more than 3 seconds)

bullet

March 12th - Cousin Andrew was born tonight.  I guess I'm not in the spotlight anymore :(

bullet

March 15th - I laughed for the first time.  Mommy was talking to Auntie Heather and she wouldn't pay attention to me so I had to do something cute.  That worked.  I'll have to keep doing that.

bullet

March 16th - Today Mommy and Daddy and all our friends moved all the stuff from our old house into our new house.  I didn't like that old place anyway.  I think the furnace blew up.  I also overheard Mommy say something about termites.  Gosh, I hope they weren't in my room.  I don't think I could sleep at night.

bullet

March 17th - Shook that rattle today.  Got a really good reaction with that one too.

bullet

March 18th - Got to wear my first pair of shoes today.

bullet

March 23rd - Daddy told Mommy that I saw my first bird today.  I didn't really see it but Daddy thinks I did.

bullet

March 25th - Mommy helped me blow bubbles with Cousin Christina today.  Cool.

bullet

March 28th - Mommy says I have to start taking regular naps.  Boy is she in for something different.

bullet

March 30th - Daddy was trying to make me type on his computer.  I still have to cheat and look at my fingers though.

bullet

March 31st - My first Easter!  I found my first Easter egg too!  Church was fun.  I cried the whole time.  I just love all that attention.  Then we went to my Aunt Susan and Uncle Billy's house and I cried some more.  It was quite a day.

April

bullet

April 2nd - I love standing on Mommy or Daddy's lap!  Just wait until I don't need any more help!

bullet

April 3rd - I grew overnight again.  Mommy had to get size 3 diapers this time.

bullet

April 8th - Oops.  Slept all night again.  (Well, the truth is, Mommy was having some pain with her wisdom teeth so I thought I'd let her get some rest.  She really needs it.)

bullet

April 14th - Mommy bought me some new clothes today in size 6-9 months!  I'm not even 4 months old yet!!  I can't stop growing!

bullet

April 17th - I rolled from my tummy to my back today.  That was fun!  But I probably won't do it again any time soon.  It just took too much effort on my part.

bullet

April 30th - Mommy brought me to this place called 'The Mall'.  We sat and watched all the people walking by.

May

bullet

May 4th - Mommy and Daddy bought me my Megasaucer.  It is so fun!!  And it makes so much noise.  Mommy just loves all that noise, I can tell.

bullet

May 5th - I had rice cereal for the first time tonight.  Yummy!

bullet

May 9th - I drank from a sippy cup for the first time today.  Well, not really but I tried.  Mommy had to help me.

bullet

May 10th - I can stand all by myself now.  OK, that's an exaggeration.  I need the coffee table to help a little bit but I can do it!!

bullet

May 11th - Mommy's friend Cristy had her baby today.  Her name is Brianna Rose.  She's beautiful.  I think I might ask her out.

bullet

May 12th - Today is Mother's Day.  I got Mommy a card with Kanga and Roo on it.  She really liked it.

bullet

May 13th - EEEKKK!  Tonight there was an earthquake.  My first earthquake.  Talk about a milestone.  I actually slept right through it but Daddy ran to my side just in case.

bullet

May 16th - I'm starting to sit all by myself now.  I fall over a lot but that's OK.  Practice makes perfect.

bullet

May 17th - I slept all night again.  Mommy was impressed but honestly I like our late night chats so I won't be sleeping through the night again any time soon.

bullet

May 18th - I went down a slide for the first time today!  No, not by myself silly!  With Daddy!

bullet

May 19th - We went to 'The Mall' again.  Always such a busy place.  The most important thing here is that Mommy bought me some new books.

bullet

May 20th - I got to try barley cereal tonight.  Yummy.  I think I like this better than the rice.

bullet

May 23rd - Daddy said my name and just to amuse him I turned and looked his way.  Mommy tested me later by calling out my name and I looked again.  They are 2 for 2.

bullet

May 24th - Oops, did it again!  I slept for 8 hours in a row!  OK, I know I keep going back and forth on this sleeping issue but remember, I'm only 5 months old... I don't really know what I want yet.

bullet

May 27th - Tonight I had oatmeal for the first time.  It's OK.  I think the barley was better though.

bullet

May 29th - Today I totally impressed Mommy by rolling from my tummy to my back, 4 times!!  I've been practicing when she's not looking.

bullet

May 30th - I'm growing like a weed, or at least that's what Mommy says.  We went shopping for more new clothes, this time in 12 month size.  Wow, a 5 month old in 12 month clothes.  I am a big boy, huh??  (Either that or Mommy doesn't know how to read the washing instructions and keeps shrinking all my clothes.)

June

bullet

June 2nd - Today we went to church and I didn't cry at all (much improvement over my Easter meltdown).  After church we had lunch with Granny Annie and some other people from church, including Fr. Chip.  I sat on his lap for 10 minutes and didn't fuss.  I'm such a good boy.

bullet

June 3rd - I've decided I don't like all this cereal Mommy keeps giving me.  I think we are going to take a break and try again later.  Spitting it out all over the place is fun but Mommy doesn't like it.

bullet

June 4th - I've got my first tooth starting to come in today, the bottom left one.  It hasn't come in all the way but it's trying.  Mommy keeps shoving her fingers in my mouth to check it and I really wish she'd cut that out.  It really hurts and I've been super fussy.  I've been trying to chew on everything in sight and I even had a slight fever.  Poor Mommy.  She doesn't know what to do with me and quite frankly, I don't know what to do with myself.

bullet

June 5th - That tooth hasn't come in yet!  I still feel pretty miserable and because of that I refused to take any naps today.  I want to be awake when this thing gets here.

bullet

June 6th - I'm really upset with Mommy.  She tried making me eat something called peas.  It was really yucky.  It was so yucky I actually gagged. She only made me eat 5 bites and then stopped the torture.  I hope I don't have to eat those again.  I thought we were done with all this solid food for a while??  Oh and by the way, still no tooth but it's really trying to come through.

bullet

June 7th - I think the tooth is finally here!  Yea!!!  You can barely see it but it's there.

bullet

June 8th - You're not going to believe this but there is another tooth coming in.  It's the bottom right one.  Somebody hand me the Baby Tylenol.

bullet

June 11th - I know I've been playing with rattles a lot, but for some reason, I think I just realized that they make noise!  I'm having lots of fun with all my rattles!!

bullet

June 16th - Today was Father's Day.  Mommy used my feet to make little footprints on this piece of paper.  Then she wrote a little poem that one of her friends gave her.  I guess it's sad or something 'cause Mommy cries every time she reads it.  (There is a picture of it on my 'Recent Events' page right now.)  I hope you don't cry too when you read it.

bullet

June 17th - Oh my gosh, Daddy made a big mistake today.  He tried to change my diaper while we were sitting on the couch.  I just couldn't help myself and I peed all over him.  And then, I peed on him again.  And then, I did it one more time.  (I really had to go!)  I figured since he was already wet, what was a little bit more??  Anyway, that's what he gets for not using the changing table.

bullet

June 18th - I wanted Mommy to know just how much I love her so I took her face in my hands and gave her a big slobbery kiss on the cheek.  She started crying again.  Sheesh.  She's just so emotional.

bullet

June 20th - Mommy took me to see Daddy at work.  Wow!  You should have seen all the computers!  Daddy showed me something called a 'firewall'.  I have no idea what that is but he was really excited about it.

bullet

June 21st - Today I took a big step and said 'Hi!!!' to Daddy.  Mommy was hogging all the milestones so I thought I'd let Daddy have a big one.

bullet

June 23rd - We took our first family trip to Calistoga this weekend.  Wow, a 3 hour trip in the car!  I slept most of the way and the rest of the time Mommy sang 'The Wheels on the Bus' for me.  I just can't get enough of that song!  Also, I got to wear my new hat that Christine got for me.  She's the big boss at the coffee shop that Daddy and I go to almost every morning.  She's really nice and she just goes crazy whenever she sees Daddy and me coming.  She always says, 'Isn't he the most perfect baby you've ever seen?'  **blush**  I really like her.  Sorry, I was getting off the subject.  Anyway, I also got to go through a tunnel for the first time and Daddy honked the horn!  Beep Beep Beep!  Just like the song... The horn on the bus goes Beep Beep Beep...

bullet

June 24th - They think I don't know, but I do:  Mommy and Daddy left me with Auntie Alethea so they could go out on a date to some cheesy restaurant.  Something about fondue.  It's a good thing I was so tired.  I just slept the whole time so that Auntie Alethea could read her book.  I hope Mommy and Daddy had a good time though 'cause I'm not letting them out again for a long time.

bullet

June 26th - I was 6 months old today and in honor of such a momentous occasion, I decided to try and crawl.  Just lying around on my tummy was getting rather boring.  Well, crawling didn't work so I just tried to get my legs going instead.  I wish I could learn how to get them under me so that I could really get somewhere!!

bullet

June 27th - Tonight I was so tired that I fell asleep before Mommy could read me my bedtime story, 'Goodnight Moon'.  I made sure to wake up twice during the night though, to make up for it.  Mom wasn't impressed.

bullet

June 28th - I love my mommy a lot.  Just to prove it to her I wrapped my arms around her neck and gave her a big hug ('cause you know, I can't really talk yet).  She really liked that.

bullet

June 29th - Today was really exciting.  First of all, Auntie Alethea came over and brought her sister, Tiffany and their mommy, Julie.  I tried to act all cute and everything.  They even brought me some cool clothes too.  Wasn't that nice of them??  Then, we got to go to the baby store.  There were babies everywhere.  I met a little cutie named Jennifer.  She's a little older than me but that's OK.  I like my girls older ;)  Oh, and I also gave Mommy another big hug since I know how much she likes them.

July

bullet

July 1st - Today we started eating solid foods again.  Mommy said since I was six months old now, it was time we tried again.  She gave me barley cereal and I ate it right up.  I did a really good job.  It's much easier to eat it now.  Mommy is so proud of me!

bullet

July 3rd - Today I had my 6 month check up at the doctor.  I did really well until we got to the shots.  Ick!  They made me have 5 shots!  What kind of torture is this??  Mommy says I really need to have them though so I'm going to believe her on this one.  Oh, and I weigh 19 lbs 14 oz and I'm 27 1/4 inches long.  I'm getting so big!!

bullet

July 4th - Today is Independence Day!  I wore my tank top with the American flag on it but didn't get to show it off as we stayed home the whole day!  My mommy said I wouldn't appreciate the parade and fireworks at such a young age and also something about messing up my nap schedule.  What does she know?  Bring on the marching bands!!  Oh well, maybe she'll let me go next year...  BUT - on a much happier note, I got to go swimming for the first time today.  It was fun but I was a little tired.  I think I might have actually fallen asleep while holding onto Mommy in the pool.  Daddy took lots of pictures too.  It was like a photo shoot!

bullet

July 5th - Today was a busy day!  First, I started rolling from my tummy to my back again.  I had decided a couple of months ago that I wasn't going to do this again for awhile but I thought it was time to try again.  Then I went from a sitting position to my tummy!  Mommy was clapping for me!  (Wow, it sure doesn't take much with that lady to make her happy.)  Mommy also tried to feed me potatoes.  All I can say is... YUCK.  Please don't make me eat potatoes again.  I made an awful face and tried to spit it out.  I don't know, maybe someday I'll eat them but not yet.

bullet

July 6th - Today we had family pictures taken.  I was such a good boy and smiled at everyone!  Mommy and Daddy were really proud of me for staying awake and doing such a good job.  You see, there was this huge group of people in front of us at the picture place and they took forever.  I was so upset at the wait I even spit up all over my outfit.  Mommy didn't like that, let me tell you.  She cleaned me up really well though and said 'the show must go on' or something like that.  Anyway, our pictures came out really nice!  You should check them out on the 'Portraits' page.  Also, I was playing with mommy's cell phone tonight and managed to call my Uncle Ronnie all the way in Hawaii.  He listened while I just went on and on chatting and babbling about my day.  After he couldn't get a word in edgewise, he hung up on me (the nerve) and called back.  Mommy thought it was pretty funny.  Thank goodness she gets free long distance on that cell phone or I would have been in big trouble.

bullet

July 8th - Last night I decided to start moving around in my crib a bit when no one was looking.  Mommy put me down one way and then sometime during the night, I flipped around and tried to confuse her.  It was so funny to see her reaction this morning!!

bullet

July 9th - Today I tried bananas for the first time.  I scrunched up my face at first from the taste, but after a while I couldn't get enough.  They were yummy.

bullet

July 10th - Can you believe I'm in size 4 diapers now??  I'm huge and I can't stop growing!

bullet

July 11th - Today Daddy took me to Babies R Us and bought me some pajamas.  Mommy calls it my 'Rapper Boy' outfit.

bullet

July 12th - Last night I kicked my Fisher Price Symphony Soother and turned it on all by myself.  I'm getting pretty active in that crib now!  I like moving around!

bullet

July 13th - I gave Daddy a shocker this morning:  He came in and found me on my tummy in the crib!!!  I find it's so much more comfortable to sleep on my tummy now.  I also rolled all over the living room floor today, from my back to tummy a couple times and then tummy to back like a zillion times.  OK, maybe not a zillion times, but too many for Mommy to keep track!  Also, today we had lunch with Granny Annie.  Afterwards, someone had the hiccups and Mommy swears that I said 'Hiccup!'.  OK, I made a funny noise but it's debatable whether or not what I said was really 'Hiccup!' or not!

bullet

July 14th - Today Mommy and Daddy took me to my first Scottish Games.  They were tossing something called a caber but between you and me, it was a telephone pole.  We got to meet Mommy's friend Heller, her husband Dan and their son Jakob.  He's the same age as me!  We hung out and looked cute together and took lots of pictures.  Jakob is really cool!!  Oh and I also got my third tooth!  Yeah!!

bullet

July 15th - Today I tried carrots for the first time.  Yum!!  Mommy's aim isn't too good, so I ended up with an orange face but it was all worth it.  They were so good!

bullet

July 16th - Guess what?  My 4th tooth came through today!!!  You can barely see it but it's there!!!!

bullet

July 18th - OK I took a BIG step last night:  I decided I will start sleeping on my tummy every night!  I am totally freaking out my Mommy!  I'm a big boy though, and I can roll around so it's OK!  Let me just tell you how comfortable it is to sleep on my tummy!  And this whole time I was sleeping on my back!  Sheesh!

bullet

July 20th - Today I got to visit Great Grandma Brook.  I was very good and hardly squirmed while sitting on her lap!

bullet

July 23rd - Today Mommy had me try squash for the first time.  Ok that was gross.  I ate half the jar and then refused to eat anymore.  Eeeewwwww.  On a brighter note, I'm a rolling maniac and am all over the place.  Mommy is so impressed.  She has no idea what she's in for though...

bullet

July 25th - I'm pretty smart and I think I have figured out that Fisher Price ring stacker thing.  I took off one of the rings and then put it back on all by myself!  Mommy was clapping for me... she was so proud.  I also had my first Cheerio today.  Mommy had to bite it in half (she is so paranoid) but I ate it anyway.  It was pretty good.

bullet

July 27th - There was a big party here today for Mommy's birthday.  EVERYONE was here.  All my cousins and everything.  It was so cool.  I'm starting to think it was just for me, but Mommy claims it was her day.  Yeah, Ok Mom.

bullet

July 28th - I tried one of those Cheerios again today and this time I crunched it with my teeth.  It made this funny noise and I laughed.  It was funny.

bullet

July 29th - I'd just like to say for the record that although I am not sleeping through *Mommy's* night, I am sleeping a pretty good stretch these days.  Just had to get that in here.

bullet

July 30th - Today I ate sweet potatoes.  They were good, but they made me puke.  Darn it.

August

bullet

August 2nd - Today Mommy and Daddy took me to get my first haircut.  I was so scared, especially of those clippers and that scary sound they make!  I was crying my eyes out but boy do I look handsome now.  No more hair covering my ears!  It was all very traumatic though.  I even got upset when they were cutting Daddy's hair.  I thought they were going to hurt him too!  He's OK though.  On a completely unrelated note, I had prunes for the first time today and they were really good.  Mommy says I need to get things moving.  I'm not sure what that means or how the prunes play into it, but whatever.  They were good.

bullet

August 3rd - OK, not only is this an important date in history for me, it was for lots of other babies too.  Today was the day that Mommy and I helped to break the Guinness World Record for most woman breastfeeding at the same time!!  We went to Berkeley and met up with our friends Heller and Jakob, and also Michelle and little Josie.  We all helped to break the record and it was so cool!  I'm in the record books!  How many babies can say that???  Not many!

bullet

August 4th - I got to meet my Uncle Ronnie today!  OK first thing's first:  He is so tan!  Wow.  He lives in Hawaii with my Aunt Kelly and my cousin Shane.  I need to get out there and work on MY tan someday!  He was so cool and brought matching outfits for cousin Andrew and I.  We looked so cute in our little Hawaiian outfits.

bullet

August 6th - Green beans are gross.  Please don't make me eat them again.  Ever.

bullet

August 7th - Guess what?  I have a new talent that is driving Mommy batty:  I learned how to grind my teeth!  It makes the most obnoxious sound and Mommy can't stand it.  She keeps trying to distract me but I can't stop playing with all these new teeth!

bullet

August 9th - I'm getting more teeth!!!  My 5th and 6th are popping through today!  They are the ones on the top, next to the center ones.  Boy, I have a mouth full of chompers.  No wonder I can't stop biting Mommy.

bullet

August 11th - Peaches are yummy, but unfortunately they give me a diaper rash.  Better put those with the green beans.

bullet

August 12th - Mommy says my 'pincher grasp' is really good, because I can pick up those Cheerios so well now.  I'm trying hard, that's for sure!  Someday I hope I can grab a whole handful and stuff them in my mouth!

bullet

August 15th - Potatoes are icky.  Go put them with the peaches and green beans.  Not going to eat them.  Sorry.

bullet

August 17th - Today was the first time I got to ride on a rocking horse.  I was mesmerized by his mane though, and just kept petting him.  It was cool!

bullet

August 18th - I was trying to crawl in my crib this morning.  Well, actually I was just trying to get my knees under me so I could try and crawl but I was having a hard time.  Guess I'm not ready yet.

bullet

August 19th - I got to watch my first Niner game with Mommy tonight!!  And they won!!  Yea!!!  I also tried pears today and they were yummy.  No barf, no diaper rash, no icky taste!  Finally something I like!  Mommy was relieved.

bullet

August 23rd - Remember those Cheerios?  Well, today I fed them to Mommy!  I grabbed one and put my hand up to her mouth and she ate it right up!  Boy, I have her trained!

bullet

August 28th - I can go from my tummy to a seated position now all by myself!  Mommy was so proud of me!

bullet

August 31st - Ok there is a problem.  Now that I know how to get to a seated position it's great but I don't know how to get back down again!!  This is bad because sometimes at night I get confused and I sit up and then can't lie down again.  It's OK though because I just yell for Mommy and she comes running.  Even at 3 in the morning!  She's great.

September

bullet

September 1st - Today was an important day.  I got to meet my friend Samuel and his family.  He was also born in December and we are part of the BBC together (that's the Boobie Biting Club in case you aren't familiar).  We like to drive our mommies crazy and have come up with a little support group, since biting our mommies is not very fun for them and we seem to get in trouble for it.  Anyhow, we had a blast together!  I tried to poke Samuel's eye out but then he tried to take a bite out of my shoulder, so I guess we are even!  It was so much fun getting to meet Samuel, Joshua (his big brother), Candy (their mommy) and Paul (their daddy).  They are all really nice people and I hope we get to visit them again someday.

bullet

September 2nd - We went and had lunch at Grandma Brook's house today.  As usual, I was my cute and adorable self.  I tricked Mommy into thinking I had learned how to use my sippy cup, but then forgot how to do it later.  Oh well.  I can only learn and retain so much at a time, you know?

bullet

September 3rd - Today I pulled up to standing all by myself in the pack and play, wow!!!  Mommy was so excited.  She took a picture of me, too.  (Well, she takes a picture of me every 5 minutes so I guess this is no big deal.)

bullet

September 4th - Today I stood all by myself!!  For like, 3 seconds!  I am almost about to crawl too, almost...

bullet

September 12th - Mommy and I were reading a book today.  She asked me where the doggy was and I pointed to it!!  I knew where the doggy was!!  Also (and this is very important), I army crawled today in my crib!  One of these days I will crawl for real but for now, this will work.

bullet

September 14th - I'M CRAWLING!!  Yea!! I finally did it.  This is so cool!  I can totally get around now.  Oh watch out Mommy, here I come!

bullet

September 16th - Today I got my nine month pictures taken and as usual, I was a good boy the entire time.

bullet

September 17th - Today I discovered hinges.  Yummy.

bullet

September 18th - I made Mommy so happy today.  I brought her a book, turned around so she could put me on her lap and waited for her to read it to me!  It was my Touch and Feel Birthday Party book.  My favorite page is the one with the balloons on it.  I love it so much, I bent down and kissed the balloon when we got to that page!  Then we read the Touch and Feel Home Book and I kissed the 'baby' in the mirror.  He is a really handsome baby.  Looks a lot like me ;o)

bullet

September 21 - Tonight when we were reading Goodnight Moon, Mommy asked me where the red balloon was and I pointed it out for her.  Doesn't she know where it is??  Why does she have to ask me?  She was pretty excited when I showed her.  I swear, she must not pay attention.

bullet

September 22 - You know, I really love reading books these days.  I just love turning the pages and looking at all the pictures.  My favorite is the Touch and Feel Birthday Party book though.

bullet

September 23 - Guess what?  Tonight I took a step!!  I stepped from Daddy to Mommy!  They got REALLY excited about it too!

bullet

September 24 - Today I took 2 steps, all by myself!  This walking thing is difficult but I am sure I will have it mastered soon!

October

bullet

October 1st - I have a new game!  I throw my book and then I go after it!  Then I throw it again and then go after it.  I think I could probably do this all day.

bullet

October 2nd - I got another tooth today.  This one makes 7 now.  Man, these things hurt!  Ouch!

bullet

October 6th - Mommy let me try honeydew melon today.  It was soooooo good.  I really liked it!

bullet

October 7th - OK, since I started crawling I've been doing this one knee down, one foot pushing thing.  Well, today I just put both knees down and went for it.  Funny, it works much better.  I wonder why I never thought of that to begin with?

bullet

October 11th - Today Mommy brought me to see Daddy at work and we all had lunch together.  He was showing me off to all his co-workers.  He keeps telling them that he is trying to get me to walk.  Silly Daddy, I will walk when I'm ready!

October 12th - We went to the Disney store today and Mommy got me my Halloween outfit.  I am going to dress up like Winnie the Pooh.  It's really a ridiculous outfit but Mommy kept saying how cute I was.  How can I let her down? I will be Winnie the Pooh, but only because it means so much to Mommy.

bullet

October 14th - I am learning how to share.  I gave Mommy one of my blocks today and she was very impressed.  She thanked me for sharing my blocks with her.

bullet

October 16th - I think I like to dance!  Sometimes when I hear music, I bob my head up and down.  I can't really 'dance' I guess but I can definitely move around and wiggle!!

bullet

October 17th - Yikes, today I did something bad.  I was playing with the cordless phone and I called 911!  Mommy didn't know I had called but took the phone from me and hung up.  A couple seconds later, the San Jose Police Department called back!  Mommy had to explain that there was no emergency but that I had accidentally called them.  She turned really red.  I wonder why?  She said she was very sorry and that it wouldn't happen again.  Then she hung up and told me not to play with the phone anymore.  Like I'm going to listen to her!  I just wanted to talk to someone, sheesh.

bullet

October 19th - Today Mommy and Daddy took me back to that awful place where they cut my hair.  Yes, they did it again.  It was terrible.  And scary.  I cried like a little baby.  (Oh yea, I *am* a baby, huh?)  It was very scary and I hope I don't have to go back there again.  But I look really cute with my new haircut, in case you are wondering!

bullet

October 20th - I have another game!  Every night before bed, I throw Winnie the Pooh over the side of the crib.  Then Mommy picks him up.  Then I throw him over and then she picks him up.  (You get the idea.)  It took Mommy a while to learn my new game.  Now she doesn't always play along but sometimes she does.  It's so fun.

bullet

October 21st - Ouch, another tooth.  Number 8.  When will this torture end?????

bullet

October 22nd - Guess what??  Today I said, Dada!  And I meant it!  I was crawling towards Daddy and it just slipped out of my mouth!  Boy, did HE get excited or what!

bullet

October 23rd - OK, I'm on a roll with this talking thing.  Tonight I crawled towards Mommy and said, Mama!  I had to make her feel important.  She was feeling a little left out since yesterday I said Dada.

bullet

October 24th - Today I did 2 really cool things.  The first thing I did was 'walk' around the living room with my push cart!  Yes, I said 'walk'.  Mommy and Daddy couldn't believe it!  I needed the push cart to hold me up but I was still walkin'!  The other thing I did was when I was playing with my Cookie Shape Sorter.  I managed to push the green circle shape through it's hole all by myself!  No help from Mommy!  What can I say?  I had a good day :o)

bullet

October 25th - I love my Mommy and to show her I give her a big hug after my naps now.  Mainly I just want to get out of my crib of course, but I still like to give her a big hug.  She really likes that.  Also, I'm learning how to clap!  OK, I just clap Mommy's hands but someday, I will clap my own!

bullet

October 27th - Today Mommy, Daddy and I went to the pumpkin patch.  We took lots of pictures.  It was a lot of fun.  They also had some baby animals!  My favorite was the ducks.  QUACK!!  QUACK!!

bullet

October 28th - I try to feed myself with a spoon now, but I make a huge mess.  It's much faster and cleaner when Mommy does it.

bullet

October 31st - Today was Halloween!  I got dressed in that Winnie the Pooh outfit and went to see Granny Annie, Uncle Billy, Auntie Sue and cousins McKenzie and Rebecca.  We went trick or treating a bit but I didn't get much candy.  Well, I did but Mommy and Daddy took it!  They said it's bad for me or something.  Anyway, I looked really cute in my outfit and of course Mommy took way too many pictures of me.

November

bullet

November 1st - Today I took a chance and waved bye bye to Mommy.  I think I'll hold off on doing that again for a while.  She was really excited though...

bullet

November 3rd - Today Fr, Chip baptized me at St. Peter's Episcopal Church.  I was a good boy, and only made a small 'peep' when he poured the water on my head!  Uncle Billy is my Godfather, and Mommy and Daddy's good friend Stacey is my Godmother (she couldn't make it though, she's all the way in Florida).  I feel very special and very blessed to have such loving godparents.  I love them both very much!

bullet

November 6th - How's this for a first?  First thunder and lightening!  It was scary but Mommy was right there so it was OK.

bullet

November 7th - I got my first pair of 'real' shoes today.  They are Stride Rites, in size 5 wide.  I have wide feet like my mommy ;o)  They are white tennis shoes with laces and they are cool!!

bullet

November 13th - I am getting really good at helping Mommy and Daddy turn the light on and off with the light switch.  Every night before bed they let me turn it off.  Then I turn it back on, then off, then on (you get the idea).

bullet

November 15th - I am very helpful.  Whenever I am getting in my stroller or in my car seat, I help Mommy and Daddy with the buckle.  I can almost do it by myself!!!  Can you believe that??  I just like to help :o)

bullet

November 19th - Today Daddy was playing with a balloon and when he let it go, it flew across the room!  Guess what I said?  "Uh-oh!!!"  Gosh, I'm so cute.

bullet

November 23rd - Today was a grand day.  Today was the day that I got to try my first McDonald's hamburger.  I shared it with Daddy (he looked hungry).  I really liked it.  I hope we go there again.  I hear they have something called a Happy Meal, but I didn't get one of those today :o(

bullet

November 25th - My first steps!!  Can you believe it??  Not quite 11 months old and I am almost walking on my own!  I took a few steps today.  Just watch out.  I am almost ready to get moving!!!

bullet

November 26th - I slept all night.  I couldn't help it.

bullet

November 27th - Today I pointed to a baby in the Wheels on the Bus book and said "Baby!!" Mommy was quite excited to hear me say a word!  She tried to get me to say it again but I didn't.  One word for the day... it's all I can handle Mom.

bullet

November 28th - Today was my first Thanksgiving.  Mommy, Daddy and I went to Grandma Brook's house for dinner.  I got to meet Aunt Andrea and her fiancé Billy for the first time.  She was trying to get me to do yoga poses but I wasn't really into it.  Oh and I got my first fat lip :o(  I wasn't really paying attention and I fell into Grandma's coffee table.  Ouch!  I was bleeding for a few minutes and of course Mommy freaked out but I was a big boy and only cried for a minute.

December

bullet

December 2nd - I had pears today and can I just say... YUMMY!!

bullet

December 3rd - Today when Mommy was getting me dressed, I helped her by holding out my arms when she put on my shirt.  She seemed like she needed some help, always struggling and whatnot.  She was happy for the assistance.  I'm getting older.  I should be helping out more anyway.

bullet

December 4th - This has been a week of firsts, let me tell you.  Today I had my first grilled cheese sandwich.  It was so good!  I loved it!  Mommy couldn't believe how quickly I ate it!  She was so nice:  She cut off all the crusts and then cut the sandwich into little squares for me.  She was waiting for me to choke on one of them but I didn't!  Grilled cheese is the tops :o)

bullet

December 6th - Today Mommy asked me where her nose was.  I pointed to it and then I grabbed it!  She wasn't ready for that, let me tell you!  She was still proud of me though.

bullet

December 8th - I fell down and got a HUGE boo-boo on my face today.  It's right above my lip but below my nose.  It looks pretty bad.  I was walking outside by the coffee shop and accidentally fell.  Hey, what do you expect?  I just started walking folks!!

bullet

December 11th - Turn on the music so I can dance!!  I love to move around when I hear music now!!

bullet

December 12th - Yep, slept all night.  Mom needed a break from the all-nighters she's been pulling for me.

bullet

December 13th - Today I visited my cousins McKenzie and Rebecca, and Auntie Susan.  They are so much fun!  They run around a lot though.  It's hard to keep up!

bullet

December 15th - Today I had to take a picture with "Santa".  He was really, really, really scary.  About 1 second after took a picture with him, I completely lost it, and started to cry.  Thankfully, Mommy rescued me.  Whew.  That was close.  Gosh, I hope I never see THAT guy again.  Why is it that I have to take a picture with him anyway?  Why is he so important??

bullet

December 18th - Today I stood up from seated position without holding on to anything.  I don't know why this is so important but Mommy thought it was a big deal.  I think I will do this more often.

bullet

December 19th - Today I got my ninth tooth.  Ouch.  These teeth hurt!  This madness has got to stop.

bullet

December 20th - I am learning how to 'give someone 5'.  Why do we give people five?  What is five anyway?  Five what?  Five duckies?  Five books?  Five goldfish crackers?  I'm confused.

bullet

December 21st - Today I saw our Christmas tree for the first time!!  I loved the lights!  They are really neat.  Not sure why we have a Christmas tree inside our living room, but it's awfully pretty.  I also like to remove the ornaments but Mommy doesn't think that's a good idea.

bullet

December 25th - Well, today is my first official Christmas.  I got here late last year and missed it but this year, I was right on time.  Mommy and Daddy spoiled me with lots of gifts, and so did all of our friends and family.  We spent the morning opening up presents and playing with new things.  I didn't really understand what we were doing but I liked the boxes that were everywhere.  In the afternoon we went to Grandma Brook's house and we celebrated Christmas again with Daddy's side of the family.  Grandma and Grandpa Brook gave me a rocking horse!  It is so neat!!  I love it!  We spent some time with them and then came back to our house, where MORE family was.  Then we celebrated again.  (This Christmas thing is nuts!  It makes for a long day, let me tell you.)  So Granny came over, along with my uncles, aunts and cousins on Mommy's side and we had fun opening more presents and hanging out.  I have to say that Christmas was a lot of fun and I was happy to spend time with my family.  Hopefully next year I will learn more about why we celebrate Christmas.

bullet

December 26th - Guess what?  I'M ONE TODAY!!!  It's my first birthday!!!  You will not believe this, but I got to open more presents this morning.  This is insane.  I think I could get used to this.  Anyway, Mommy and Daddy spoiled me once again and gave me more presents.  They told me how much they love me and how happy they are that I am here.  They said they couldn't believe how quickly I was growing up.  They were kind of sappy but it's OK, I love them!  I can't believe I am one; how cool.  It's funny, I don't feel any different from yesterday, but I bet everyone says that!

bullet

December 27th - Guess what?  No presents today.  I thought I was on a roll.

bullet

December 28th - Ok, there are presents again.  I am totally confused.  Anyway, today I had my birthday party and EVERYONE came over!  All my family and friends were there.  We ate lunch, had a piñata, opened birthday presents (more presents, I couldn't believe it) and had birthday cake!  By the time it was time for cake I was really crabby though, since I missed my second nap.  Hey, I am only one you know and I like my naps.  Needless to say, I refused to smile for any of my pictures.  But I was so happy to have all of my friends and family with me.  Thank you to everyone for coming and thank you for all the nice gifts you brought!

bullet

December 30th - Today I had my first tamale.  Very good!  And might I say... Olé!!  Also, today I surprised Mommy:  She asked for a kiss and I gave her one!  Just planted a big kiss right on her!!  She was so happy.  I should do that more often.  I am a bit stingy with kisses.
